Minangkabau ethnic
Minangkabau or commonly abbreviatedminang are an Nusantara's ethnic group who use language and respect the traditional Minangkabau. Region adherents culture include west sumatra, half of Riau Mainland, north of Bengkulu, the western part f jambi, north sumatra's west coast, southwest of aceh and also negeri sembilan in malaysia. usually Minang people are often equated as the Padang, referring to the capital of the province of west sumatra.Minangkabau society has a distinctive cuisine popurlarly known as "Padang Cuisine" and its very popular in Indonesia even up to foreign countries.
Minang people also famous for matrilineal kinship system. Matrilineal is the one of minangkabau's identity.the customs and culture in matrilineal is they placed the woman acting as heir inheritance and kinship. referred to the mothers lineage known as "Samande" (a mother). while their father is called by the people with the name sumando (law) and treated as a guest in the family.
Women in Minangkabau has a special position so dubbed by "Bundo Kanduang", plays a role in determining the succes of the implementation of decissions made by men in their position as mamak
