Asmat Ethnic from Papua

Asmat ethnic is the one of the Indonesian ethnic and they are inhabited the territory of Papua Indonesia
Asmat population in general have distinctive physical characteristics, black and curly-haired.
Her body is quite high and the average height of the Asmat women arround 162 cm height and the men is  172 cm height.
Asmat indigenous livelihood by hunting and gathering food.
They still use the traditional way to hunting such as using a spear, animals trap from wood, etc.
The basic food of Asmat people is sago, almost everyday they eat sago that made the dots so that the embers burned in the fire.
Another craze is eating live sago worm from sago palm , sago worms are usually wrapped in palm leaves, sprinkled with sago and baked in the fire.
Vegetables and grilled fish was used as a complement for the  Asmat people.
Asmat peoples Catholic, Protestan, and animist the teachings and practices of a balance of nature and the worship of the spirits of the dead or sculpture.
One of the things that made the Asmat ethnic well known is the Asmat's traditional wood carving.
Some ornaments or motifs that are often used, and the main theme in the process of sculpting a statue made by the Asmat's peeople is the theme of the Ancestors of their ethnic, commonly called "Mbis".
