Garuda Pancasila, the State Emblem of Indonesia




Garuda Pancasila is  the state emblem of Republic Indonesia, and its have motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika"( unity in diversity).
The garuda Eagle's head is turned to the right (from the point of view garuda), shield shaped like a herath that was hug in chains on the necks.
The symbols was designed by "Sultan Hamid II of Pontianak, which then perfected by President Soekarno, and inaugurated as a state emblem of Republic Indonesia in the United Indonesia cabinet meeting dated February 11, 1950.
Garuda Pancasila is known through ancient mythology in the history of Indonesia, illustrate that Indonesia is a  strong nation. garuda's color is golden symbolize the grandeur and glory.
Garuda has a beak, wings, tail, and claws which symbolizes strength and power development.
Number of garuda Pancasila feathers symbolize the proclamation of Indonesian independence on 17 August 1945, namely :

  • 17 Feathers on each wing
  • 8 Pieces of fur on the tail
  • 19 Strands of hair under the shield or on the base of the tail
  • 45 Strands of hair on the neck.
